A medium-sized manufacturing facility in Shandong Province needed to improve natural lighting in its production area to reduce electricity costs and improve worker comfort. The factory building had a steel roof structure covering 4,500 square meters, and the client sought a cost-effective daylighting solution. The Challenge
The factory roof had limited load-bearing capacity, ruling out glass skylights. The daylighting solution needed to be lightweight, impact-resistant (to withstand hail), and provide uniform light distribution without hotspots or glare. Additionally, the installation had to be completed within two weeks to avoid disrupting production schedules. Conventional FRP (fiberglass) panels were considered but have a shorter lifespan and lower impact resistance.
Our Solution

The factory natural lighting improved dramatically, with illumination levels increasing from 150 lux to over 800 lux during daytime hours.
