In early 2026, a mid-sized commercial complex in Eastern China sought to upgrade its main building entrance with a modern, weather-resistant canopy. The Challenge
Several constraints shaped this project. First, the existing steel support columns could not be replaced—the new canopy had to work within the original structural footprint. Second, the entrance faced southwest, meaning intense afternoon sun required effective UV filtering without darkening the lobby. Our Solution

The installation used 2100mm × 6000mm sheets cut to size on-site, fitted into the existing steel grid with aluminum clamping profiles and EPDM gaskets. Thermal expansion gaps of 3mm per linear meter were maintained per manufacturer guidelines. The entire canopy—covering approximately 45 square meters—was completed in four working days with a three-person crew.
Results
The new solid polycarbonate canopy transformed the building entrance. Natural light now fills the lobby throughout the day without the harsh glare of direct sun.
