A major metro station in Chengdu required high-quality light box panels for its advertising display system. The client, a leading outdoor advertising company, needed polycarbonate sheets with excellent light diffusion, impact resistance, and long-term color stability. Jietai supplied solid polycarbonate sheets specifically engineered for backlit advertising applications.
The Challenge
The metro environment posed unique challenges: high passenger traffic meant panels had to withstand accidental impacts; the underground environment required materials resistant to humidity and temperature fluctuations; LED backlighting demanded uniform light distribution without visible hotspots; and the advertising content needed to remain vibrant and clear for at least five years without yellowing or distortion.
Our Solution
Jietai supplied 3mm thick solid polycarbonate sheets in milky white finish, specially formulated for optimal light diffusion. The panels were custom-cut to fit the metro station’s standardized advertising frame sizes. Each sheet features a co-extruded UV protection layer and anti-static coating to reduce dust attraction. The milky white formulation provides 82% light transmission with 95% diffusion uniformity, creating evenly lit advertising displays without hot spots.
Results
Over 300 advertising light boxes were installed across 12 metro stations using Jietai PC sheets. The uniform backlighting significantly improved advertising visibility and color accuracy, with advertisers reporting a 25% increase in engagement. After 18 months of continuous operation, the panels show no yellowing, warping, or surface degradation, maintaining their original optical performance.
